James 2:17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
J.C. Ryle
“Sanctification is the invariable result of true justification.”
Meditation
Faith is not the way to salvation but the result of our salvation, out of regeneration comes faith.
Justification
is instantaneous, as soon as Christ comes to your life, you are
justified, but sanctification is progressive. Yet the two are never
separated. A justified man is a changed man. Ryle presses us to
examine whether our faith is merely claimed or clearly displayed.
Do not ask only, “Did I once believe?” Ask, “Am I being transformed now?” Grace that saves also teaches, disciplines, and reshapes the heart.
Prayer
“Father,
expose any false peace in my soul. Let my faith be living, obedient,
and fruitful. Amen.”
