God’s plan includes human choices.
Humans remain fully responsible for their actions.
Example:
Jesus’
death was predestined and
yet
executed by responsible humans.
“Jesus… delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified.” — Acts 2:23
“For truly… Herod, Pilate, the Gentiles, and Israel were gathered together to do whatever Your hand had predestined to occur.” — Acts 4:27–28
He allows it,
sets boundaries,
uses it for His wise purposes.
cause sin,
force anyone to sin,
delight in sin.
God is the ruler of sin but never the author of sin.
God uses sin for good: “You meant evil… God meant it for good.” — Genesis 50:20
God is holy: “God cannot be tempted by evil.” — James 1:13
God controls sinful actions: “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD.” — Proverbs 21:1
God chooses some sinners to salvation purely because of His mercy in Christ.
“He chose us in Him… according to the good pleasure of His will.” — Ephesians 1:4–5
“As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.” — Acts 13:48
God passes over others, leaving them to their own sin and just judgment.
“Jacob I loved, Esau I hated.” — Romans 9:13
“He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.” — Romans 9:18
God is not obligated to save anyone.
Reprobation is just,
not arbitrary,
based on sin,
and never forces people to reject God—they freely choose sin.
For His glory.
Everything God decrees points back to:
His wisdom,
His justice,
His mercy,
His power.
“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.” — Romans 11:36
“The LORD has made all things for Himself.” — Proverbs 16:4
God planned everything before time.
His plan is good, wise, and never changes.
He is sovereign, but we remain responsible.
He rules over sin without causing it.
He freely chooses to save sinners in Christ.
Everything exists to display His glory.
