The doctrine of the millennium is primarily based on Book of Revelation 20:1–10, though it is connected with many other passages throughout Scripture.

The four major evangelical views are Pre-Tribulation Premillennialism, Premillennialism, Amillennialism, and Postmillennialism. Each affirms Christ’s return but differs on the nature and timing of the “thousand years.”
