Let us check all these systems in the light of the Bible, Bible being the final authority.
Roman Catholicism
Eastern Orthodox Theology (Below No Link Articles)
Rooted in the early Greek Fathers and the Seven Ecumenical Councils:
Emphasizes theosis (deification) — union with God as the goal of salvation
Apophatic theology — God is ultimately beyond human description
Heavy emphasis on mystery, liturgy, and icons
Rejects the Western filioque (that the Holy Spirit proceeds from both Father and Son) Salvation is seen as a healing and transformation of human nature
Liberal Theology
Arminisanism
Arminianism is a branch of Protestant theology that emphasizes human responsibility in responding to God’s grace. Rooted in the teachings of Jacobus Arminius, it holds that God’s grace is given to all people (prevenient grace), enabling them to freely choose to accept or reject salvation.
In contrast to strict predestination, Arminianism teaches that election is conditional—based on God’s foreknowledge of who will believe—and that true believers can potentially fall away if they turn from faith.
Calvinism
Calvinism is a branch of Protestant Christianity shaped largely by John Calvin. Calvinism is the nickname for Doctrines of Grace.
It emphasizes God’s sovereignty over all things, especially in salvation, teaching that humans are sinful by nature and cannot save themselves. God graciously chooses (elects) some to be saved, not based on their merit but His will. Salvation is entirely by grace through faith, and those truly saved will persevere to the end.
